Susan’s commitment to our Forest Preserves  is personal and lifelong. As the daughter of a community-activist mother and a union machinist, she learned the value of public service and hard work early on.

​

Her passion for nature was sparked during family camping trips and time spent in local park programs. Today, she’s a mother of three, sharing that same love of the outdoors on “nature walks with mom” (even in winter!).

​

This lifelong passion led to a career. Susan is a Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE), an Illinois Master Naturalist, and a manager for the Glen Ellyn Park District.

 

As an elected Elmhurst Park Board Commissioner, she has a proven record of results, helping to open two new parks and plan major new recreation facilities.

Now, Susan is running for DuPage County Forest Preserve District 1 to use her unique blend of personal passion and professional expertise to protect our natural spaces, ensure they are accessible to all, and manage them with fiscal responsibility.
